The RN will plan, provide and supervise nursing interventions for children and adolescents with significant mental illness. Services may include but are not limited to nursing interventions and their documentation, case finding, health teaching/counseling and provision of supportive and/or restorative care. Will also participate in staff training, prepare clinical and administrative reports, maintain infection control standards, and function as a member of a treatment team. May also act as a charge nurse on a unit.

Job Requirements:

• Be physically and mentally capable of discharging all professional responsibilities as provided in this contract.

• Possess a valid and current license to practice nursing in New York State.

• Complete HIPAA and other mandated training as determined by the hospital.

• Visibly wear Psychiatric Center issued identification badge at all time during the course of your workday.

• Comply with all Psychiatric Center specific rules, including but not limited to: no smoking on facility grounds, safe/security concerns, fire drills, client interaction, parking, speed limits, issuance of keys, etc.

• Treat all clients/patients with safe and humane care.

• Two (2) years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience is preferred, but not required

• Previous Pediatric Psychiatric Nursing experience preferred, but not required

• Proof of an individual’s credentials must be provided to the Facility prior to placement.
